Love sometimes comes in the most unexpected ways and from the most unexpected places. Chane and Hugo believed their paths crossed by pure fate! A South African girl growing up and living in America and praying for an Afrikaans man that loves rugby. While an Afrikaans man (who does love rugby) moves to America to pursue his career, but also has the need to find someone to spend his life with. His desires were also to marry a girl with some South African values and background. Their paths crossed unexpectantly  and they quickly realised they were ticking  each others boxes in all ways. FATE. Obviously for Hugo, finding out she loves rugby was a JACKPOT!

Their story started by fate but every day thereafter they pursued and chose each other and soon realised this is not just any type of love. This is the forever kind of love.

They visited South Africa, and both their families and  Hugo's friends, over January 2024. Hugo already knew he was going to ask Chane to marry him. For him it was a done deal, but he wanted to introduce her to his friends and family first. After a few days in SA they visited Hugo’s Mom in St Francis Bay. He knew over the next few days he was going to pop the question, but waited for the right place and time to arrive. On 16 January 2024, they walked on the beach picking up shells and he just knew that this was the day to do it. He quickly made a few plans, trying hard not to make Chane suspicious, and later that day he brought them to the Lighthouse overlooking the ocean. He came up with a cover story to take some couples photos at sunset. As Chane loves taking photos, she immediately fell for the storyline and it all worked out perfectly. Hugo went down on one knee, the camera was on auto timer for the sunset, Chane was surprised, and tears, love and yesses started flowing! The perfect sunset, shells, champagne and fate sealed the deal. Hugo and Chane are engaged!
